Situation.
Acadie is a North-American area, counting approximately 500 000 inhabitants, mainly
the Acadian ones, whose principal language is French. Acadie includes/understands north roughly speaking and
is Canadian province of New Brunswick as well as localities isolated with Island-of
Prince-Edouard, in Nova Scotia and in Ground-New-and-Labrador.
In the broad sense, Acadie refers also to the communities of the acadian diaspora
located at Quebec and the United States; people of acadian ascent
also find themselves in France, in the Falkland Islands and in the Antilles.
By its language, its culture, its institutions and its symbols,
Acadie would form a nation, not recognized officially.
Acadie thus has a complex geography.
